Good Evening Young Members   Join us for the annual Young Guns Formal Mess Dinner on Saturday 9 November! Thanks to our Officers' Club Committee and Club 19 for once again bringing the traditions of a Formal Mess Dinner to the club, along with other young Northern Club Members. Enjoy an evening of exquisite cuisine, engaging camaraderie, and unique customs. As you enter, you’ll be welcomed by laughter and tradition. Savour a curated meal, partake in lively traditions and the daily toasts recognising achievements, and forging connections. Dress code: Mess Dress, or civilian equivalent. Cost: $129 per person includes drink on arrival, 2 course dinner & beverages finished with petits fours & Port for the Loyal Toast.   Please book directly with The Northern Club through their online portal. Greetings,   Social Committee is pleased to invite Members of The Auckland Officers’ Club to a shooting contest in acknowledging the achievements of CAPT Jesse Wallingford at Gallipoli in 1915.  If you have not seen the handsome shooting trophy awarded to Wallingford, it sits above Sarah’s desk in the NC Office for your viewing pleasure.   Date: Sunday 20 Oct Timing: 0900 - 1500 Location: Whangaparoa Range Disciplines: -.22 Rifle, Shotgun Trap, and 9 mm Pistol. Equipment: Firearms will be provided by the Pistol Club, however, you may bring your own shotgun if preferred.  Cost: Pistol Club levy charge ($10pp) plus Ammunition (Thanks to Kurt Breetvelt who has offered to purchase them and advise the per person cost before the shoot).   Please Register through the Event Detail link below by midday on 14th Sep. Due to Pistol Club registration requirements, no late RSVP will be accepted.  This event is been organised by the Navy Pistol Club, and is open to Officers’ Club Members ONLY, with or without a Firearms Licence. Good Evening Members Of the Auckland Officers' Club   Last chance to book in for this wonderful event! Following the success of Base visit to Papakura Camp last year, Base Commander RNZAF Base Auckland, GPCAPT Cannon, and the President of the Auckland Mess Committee, SQNLDR Tracey Collins, has kindly invited us to visit the RNZAF Base Auckland, followed by a social gathering at the Auckland Officers’ Mess. This promises to be a really interesting and absorbing visit, and we are exceedingly grateful to SQNLDR Gus Cabre, our Air Force Rep, for initiating and giving a presentation on this special visit. Battle of Cassino 80th Anniversary Formal Mess Dinner, Friday 17 May, 6.30 pm.   The Auckland Officer’s Club welcomes our Members to a Formal Mess Dinner to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of the Battle of Cassino. Guest speaker, BRIG Rob Krushka, Chief Joint Defence Services, will share his knowledge on the brutal 4-month campaign on Cassino in early 1944, which was one of the most costly battles involving NZ Forces in WW2. including the exploits of the failed attack on the railway station by 28 Māori Battalion and the complete destruction of Monte Cassino Monastery by Allied bombing through to the German surrender on 18 May 1944. Don't miss out on an eveningof history and tradition. Dress Code: Mess Kit or Black Tie with Miniatures. Cost: The Officers' Club committee has kindly agreed to subsidies $50 per member, making the ticket $115pp. Non-members and partners price is $165 pp. Ticket include: Welcome Drink, Three Course Set Menu with Wine, a glass of Port, tea/coffee and Petit Fours.   Please RSVP on Northern Club Events page.
