ANZAC Day Breakfast at the Club
The Northern Club
07:00 – 10:00
Saturday 25 April | 7.00am for a 7.30am start
Lest we forget.
After the Dawn Service, Auckland Officers Club members are warmly invited to return to the Northern Club for our traditional Gunfire Breakfast, honouring those who served New Zealand and Australia. This long‑standing ritual—complete with the customary rum‑laced coffee—remains a meaningful way for us to gather in remembrance.
Officers Club Sponsorship
In support of our military heritage and ANZAC commemorations, the Officers Club Committee is again subsidising the penal staff costs for this event. This contribution helps ensure the breakfast remains an accessible and enduring tradition for our members.
Guest Speaker
We are honoured to welcome Alastair Carruthers CNZM as our guest speaker. His family’s ANZAC connection is deeply personal—his grandfather, Alexander Kinloch Carruthers, served with the New Zealand armed forces in Egypt and France during the First World War.
Alastair Carruthers currently serves as Deputy Chair of the Auckland War Museum Trust Board, and has held significant governance roles across Auckland’s cultural and civic institutions, including Auckland Unlimited, the Auckland Regional Amenities Funding Board, Tātaki Auckland Unlimited, and most recently as Chair of the Cornwall Park Trust Board and the Sir John Logan Campbell legacy trusts.
His reflections on service, heritage, and remembrance will add a meaningful dimension to this year’s gathering.
We look forward to sharing this important morning of reflection and fellowship with you.
Cost
$49 per person, includes rum‑laced coffee, hot breakfast, pastries, juice, tea and coffee.
