Social Committee is pleased to invite Members of The Auckland Officers’ Club to a shooting contest in acknowledging the achievements of CAPT Jesse Wallingford at Gallipoli in 1915.  Date: Sunday 1 Nov 2026 Timing: 0900 - 1500 Location: Whangaparoa Range Disciplines: -.22 Rifle, Shotgun Trap, and 9 mm Pistol. Equipment: Firearms will be provided by the Pistol Club, however, you may bring your own shotgun if preferred.  Cost: Pistol Club levy charge ($10pp) plus Ammunition (Thanks to Kurt Breetvelt who has offered to purchase them and advise the per person cost before the shoot).   Please Register with Raniera.Kingi@nzdf.mil.nz by midday 9 October 2026. Due to Pistol Club registration requirements, no late RSVP will be accepted.  This event is been organised by the Navy Pistol Club, and is open to Officers’ Club Members ONLY, with or without a Firearms Licence. In celebration of Sir Winston Churchill's birthday and St Andrew's Day, The Auckland Officers Club invites Members and guests to an evening that honours two great traditions: British resilience and Scottish hospitality. This year, we are honoured to welcome Phil Goff CNZM, former New Zealand High Commissioner to the United Kingdom and former Mayor of Auckland, as our Guest Speaker for the evening. Mr Goff will reflect on Winston Churchill’s leadership during Britain’s darkest hour and the enduring lessons of courage, resolve and international alliance. Drawing on his time as New Zealand High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Phil will share personal insights into New Zealand’s military legacy, support for Ukraine, and the remarkable contribution of New Zealanders from the Battle of Britain and D-Day through to modern conflicts. Highlights include the Club's famed Haggis Parade and Ode, a tribute to Churchill's finest hours, and an atmosphere rich in camaraderie, heritage, and celebration. Enjoy an elegant four-course dining experience showcasing timeless British favourites and renowned Scottish flavours. Following dinner, gather on the Terrace to savour a fine Highland whisky and a Churchillian cigar beside the fire, the perfect conclusion to a truly memorable occasion.
